Dear Workforce Planning collaborators and colleagues,
Since Shannon is out experiencing maternal and child health first hand,
I am writing to give a quick update on our progress with the development
of the first iteration of the iHRIS Plan workforce planning and modeling
software.
* First, please note that if you're email is listed separately
from the 'workforce-planning' mailing list above, you are not currently
subscribed to the workforce-planning mailing list. If you would like to
subscribe or make any changes to your subscription, please feel free to
visit http://lists.intrahealth.org/mailman/listinfo/workforce-planning
and sign up.
* As Shannon promised before she went on maternity leave, here
is a link to the workshop report that summarizes the outcomes of the
December 2007 Workforce Planning Model Workshop. Thank you for all of
your comments that helped us produce this essential output from the
workshop:

rief_2_hwpm.pdf.
* The detailed workshop website remains available at
http://www.capacityproject.org/workforce_planning_workshop
* Last month at the Kampala Forum for HRH, we learned that the
Philippines' Drs. Rodel Nodora and Marilyn Lorenzo have developed an
exciting workforce planning tool in collaboration with WPRO. We have
invited them to join this list, and rather than risk getting any of the
details wrong, invite them to share their news with you directly. We
are working to integrate our efforts now and look forward to having
additional news to share very soon.
* For more news, learn about and contribute to the development
process by visiting our wiki at
http://open.intrahealth.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page#Workforce_Planning.
Please feel free to post any comments/suggestions there or send them to
this mailing list.
Thank you all for your participation in the workshop, the report drafts
and your ongoing participation in this advisory group. We rely on your
long experience and sage advice.
Take care, and we'll be in touch again soon.
